Algoma Strongfield
In 2017, Algoma Strongfield entered service in the agricultural and iron ore trades of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway system. This ship is the fourth gearless bulk carrier in the efficient Equinox Class fleet renewal. The ship name represents an important grain cargo, Strongfield durum wheat, which is an award winning variety grown on the Canadian prairies. Strongfield is known for it’s high yield, high protein content, gluten strength and pigment concentration and is the basis for the finest pastas and couscous in the world.
